Intuitive Business with Amanda Norgaard

I’m SO excited to introduce the next woman in the COSMIC BUSINESS series.

Amanda Norgaard is a luminous multi-disciplinary powerhouse (in true MG style). Her poetry and grit infuse all that she touches, from her modelling career to her teachings in kundalini yoga. Amanda is a true visionary: her mere presence reminds me of the pure power of a woman, and how important it is to work on giving less weight to the expectations and opinions of others.

Human Design Aura Type, Profile and Authority:

Manifesting Generator 5/2 with an Emotional Authority

How has Human Design influenced or changed the way you work within your business?

To deeply honor my emotional and sensory system as a Divine Container for Divine and Universal Communication and Creation. While I’m still uncovering, deepening and receiving so many treasures through Human Design and our reading, the biggest shift has been that I can absolutely, and even must, go with what moves me, or even at times pulls me, emotionally even though it might make no sense whatsoever. Whether that being a call to action, leap, rest or pause.

Back in Spring I kept hearing a subtle internal voice saying “You’re missing the point”, which I at first thought had something to do with my offerings but later understood it was a matter of where I was working and creating from. When I am LIT up by my work and creations, a magnetic nucleus power generates through yet the subconscious mind tends to want to get there from an intellectual and rational approach, which is such a dance to dismantle and let go off. I can’t figure anything out, but I can feel my way through.

What is the biggest fear or limiting belief you’ve had to overcome in running and living with your business?

That I would eventually burn out running a multi-creative business and leading a successful modelling career at the same time. In order to hold that amount of energy in my Auric field, I’ve been profoundly pushed to understand my boundaries; how to listen to them, how to set them, express them and live by them. The mic drop for me has been this: in order to expand, I need to be very clear around my boundaries (time/space/energy) to create the most rich internal/external space. Space is not generated by no boundaries, it is generated BY boundaries.

Is there any common business advice you’re grateful you didn’t take?

Vision Boards and Business Plans. I’ve tried; it doesn’t do it for me. I always need a window open to let fresh air in. I download my ideas through the Vibrational Fields of Words - that’s my Vibration Board. I create micro-plans for a season, because Virgo Moon, but more than that contracts my creativity. I have an amazing woman working with me on Illumination and she is a genius at creating a perfect balance of structure with room to flow and be spontaneous.

Have there been moments in which the people in your life didn’t encourage or trust what you were doing? How did you overcome that?

This is what I’ve learned: People will assume a lot of things. I mean heck, I’m a model and Kundalini Yoga Teacher. The list of prejudices around my work is long AF. It’s taken me a solid decade to not care about what people may think or say about my work, and more importantly that my vision, my work, my calling, doesn’t depend on people to get it. A lot of the times what I used to read as “condescending” questions or comments, I now understand are simply just people feeling insecure and who literally don’t know how to approach it. What I do doesn’t fit a box and that can be tremendously challenging for the mind to understand. On the other hand I don’t owe people an explanation. The finest job as a Visionary is seeing what others may not see, yet.

Do you have a structured way of working or do you free flow?

I thought in order to be a *serious* and *dedicated* creator I had to be consistent in every way possible. I now get that my consistency is the ebb and flow of my Soul, Body and Mind. I have a beautiful office which has helped me structure my work in a very organic way. I still honor those 3 am strikes of genius, however now I have a change of scenery, where I can’t take a phone meeting while folding laundry. MG rookie learning curve: no, you don’t need to do the triple amount of work just because you can. My morning bike to the office through the city, crossing the bridge and the lakes is so meditative and pleasurable.

Has this been a linear path?

Oh god no, haha. In our reading you touched upon my innate discipline and how my Soul and Creativity thrived the most in the fluctuations of life which has always been my experience but I kept measuring myself with an illusionary societal accepted standard on how to do things. So this truly helped me accept and own that part of me. I continue to surprise myself with just how efficient and direct I can deliver something when I trust my own rhythm and lean in. Like I wrote “The Book” for Illumination, a 35 page workbook in 72 hours. After months of trying to push it through, I surrendered and everything came to me shortly after.

Is the reality of this work different to how it might be perceived externally?

Yes! Being a Creative Entrepreneur I wear a lot of different hats. What is most often showcased is the final products i.e. Illumination or The Practice, which can seem so effortless and yoga-like but behind each products are hours of juicy creative time but also all the sexy stuff such a correction, constant technical upgrades AND glitches, numerous retakes on the recordings because rambling or inappropriate dad jokes, the constant inventory of how to create a greater, more impactful space and product, countless meetings, opportunities that fall through, the jungle of taxes and accounting, the practical application of “From Vision to 3D” and such. What I feel incredibly blessed about is that I so deeply enjoy every step of this fun, crazy, wild, deep and incredibly humbling journey. I had no idea what I signed up for, but man, do we grow with the load.

What inspires your business and your life at the moment?

Ease, Fun, Intimacy, Authenticity, Abundance and Boundaries, hehe. I’m currently in my Saturn Return, so this is quite an intense time of transformation for me. I find myself dismantle, well just about everything, inside/out, but especially the stories I still linger onto as a way to excuse myself in one way or another such as being resilient or hardworking, which I find I use to give myself permission to enjoy the fruit of labors instead of just devouring the labor, the fruit and everything in between. I have had quite an intense first 29 years of my life with a lot of survival, hyper-individualism, resilience and intensity. I am quite an intense person, and I understand the constant unraveling of who I truly am through these experiences are profound yet I am at this point where I understand that my default mode is no longer surviving or fighting for my right to be here; but that I Am that I Am. No more, no less.

What does running an intuitive business look like for you in practice?

On days where I’m not traveling or shooting, my morning starts with coffee in bed served by my boyfriend. I wake up slowly, laying in bed for 10 minutes just breathing and listening to my Heart and Body. Most mornings I sit down for my practice, other times I do it at the office as a break between work. Right now I’m in between seasons of Illumination, meaning I have more admin work, less evening teachings and spaceholding, which gives me some sweet room to drop in at the office a little later. I always try to arrange meetings between 11-2pm, as I find the late afternoons highly productive and creative in terms of working on the current program and all the new exciting things coming in 2022. I have an agent who’s in charge of all my modelling jobs, and we are in contact daily. Merging and adding two full time jobs and their schedule up can be quite the work sometimes, but we always make it. The greatest discovery of running my business in the way I do, is that everything I do is related and feeds the same major purpose. So going for a walk, reading, and doing subconscious reprogramming is as much a part of my professional life as it is to do spreadsheets, answering emails and updating my website.

Any words of advice for others on this path?

Trust that You in Your absolute wholeness is the unique Medicine the World is longing for.

THE LIST

Beauty products or rituals:

The dry air of late-fall just arrived in Copenhagen and my skin has been feeling extra sensitivo. My go-to remedy which is also the most inexpensive beauty tip ever is organic, cold pressed argan oil and vitamin e oil for xtra healing. I mist my face with a mist from Mantle, apply the Ordinary hyaluronic serum (another inexpensive treat) and the proceed with the full oil show. I buy the oils in my local health store, no fancy brand, just really pure and nourishing for my skin which bounces back less than a week after.

Drink:

I’m a loyal lover of coffee with oat milk, though my nervous system doesn’t always agree, I’m mixing up my caffeine with my favorite Earl Grey from Singh Tea House. A fragrant black tea with bergamot and blue cornflowers. Always with a splash of oat milk.

Reading:

As I’m preparing the vibrational field of Illumination Winter Program, I’m reimmersing myself in ancient scriptures on Shakti, the Femme Power and Kundalini such as The Serpent Power, The Magdalen Manuscript and The Gospel of Mary Magdalene. I always keep a fiction book on the side for chillax and daydreaming, right now I’m reading “Second Place” by Rachel Cusk. Later today I’m picking up my delivery of “Untamed” By Glennon Doyle

Listening:

It’s high Fall here in the Northern Hemisphere and this time a year I always listen to a lot of classical music. I recently discovered the “Know Thyself”-podcast, which I highly recommend for all my alchemy and mystic geeks like myself.

Herb, plant or supplement you are working with:

plant or supplement you are working with: I’m loving my Alex Smart x To Be Magnetic flower remedy “Unblocked” and am deeply obsessed with Rainbo’s mushroom tinctures. Right now I’m taking Lions Mane, Reishi and their 11:11 mix.

Scent:

I’ve used the same Eau de toilette for years. 8 years to be exact. It’s inexpensive, mild yet a week never goes by where I don’t get compliments from strangers and friends alike on how sweet my scent is. Caudalie’s “Thé de Vignes”
